On September 6, 1993 (Week 1), the Redskins beat the Cowboys 35–16. Notably, Emmitt Smith was holding out due to a contract dispute, and Dallas struggled without him.
The Cowboys then signed Smith to a new contract. When they met again in Week 18 (January 2, 1994), the Cowboys crushed the Redskins 38–3, with Emmitt contributing.
Emmitt’s Impact: After the holdout, Emmitt went on to win the NFL rushing title, league MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and helped Dallas win Super Bowl XXVIII.
